CarFest 2017 – Part 2 – Fancy Dress and the Sunset

Saturday and Sunday is much to the likeness of Friday, the racing is not the focal point of the day. There aren't many race meetings you know that have a 2.5km and 5km Fun Run before proceedings began! As we were on post it was only right to encourage everyone along and give out high fives where necessary.

Whilst Saturday was the same, Sunday was slightly different as I had a change of location. I was moved from the main public area to near Bolesworth Castle itself on the return run back to the paddock. No spectators are around this area and I found myself on my own, meaning I needed to entertain myself. To do this I danced around and waved to all the drivers and passengers in every car driving past, hopefully making their day!

The efforts of the marshals was officially counted up and the total that came back was staggering. The Orange Army managed to raise a total of £1770.07 and that is from the generosity of the general public who got into the spirit of the event.

Whilst I have briefly mention there was music, I haven't touched on it enough. Yes the event may be called CarFest and the attraction of the cars is huge, but the festival in the evening is equally as important.

The music gets your dancing shoes on, like we hadn't already done enough dancing over the weekend! We got our dancing shoes on once again and boogied into the night, another reason why this event is something you need to get yourself too.
